About
I’m Rogg. I was born in the UK in 1983, and spent most of my childhood in or around Oxford. I studied Japanese and Business at the University of Wales, Cardiff, where I managed to fit in a wee drinky or two in between finding new ways of expressing my unbridled rage at the Japanese alphabet for taking more than an afternoon to master. I studied for a year at Kitakyushu University, where I spent more time in the kendojo than I did in the classroom.
I write and translate for a living. I play the guitar, take photos, make things, tinker with web pages and play TFC for fun.

After flirting with Expression Engine for a while – which I eventually decided was a little too powerful for my humble little blog – dr-rogg.co.uk is now powered by Wordpress (and formerly Textpattern).
I’m using a bog-standard Kubrick template because… well, I just wanted to get in the habit of writing regularly again, and decide what kind of site this is going to be before investing time/effort into a redesign.
The site is hosted by HostGator.
I don’t think you’re a real doctor at all!
And you’d be right. However, there is a certain canine doctor who, despite his horrifying disregard for the ethics of medical experimentation, charges the very reasonable standard fee of ten quid.
His name sounds a bit like mine.
